Introducing Uber Shuttle: A Convenient New Way to Reach LaGuardia Airport
Uber is revolutionizing airport transportation with the launch of its new shuttle service in New York City. This innovative option aims to provide a more affordable and eco-friendly way for travelers to reach LaGuardia Airport (LGA). The service will operate every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. until 10:45 p.m., seven days a week, making it an accessible choice for all.
The Uber Shuttle can accommodate up to 14 passengers and offers rides from key public transport hubs across the city for just $18 per person, as reported by Travel + Leisure. Sachin Kansal, Uber’s Vice President of Product Management, emphasized the benefits during the company’s annual climate conference held in London: “This service is not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly. It serves as an excellent alternative during peak congestion times when securing a traditional Uber may be challenging.”
Booking Your Ride Made Easy
Currently available exclusively at LaGuardia Airport, there are plans to expand this shuttle service to additional airports in the future. Travelers can reserve up to four seats up to seven days prior to their journey and will receive a QR code ticket along with a unique PIN for driver verification upon booking.
Each passenger is permitted one piece of luggage—either carry-on or checked (up to 50 pounds)—and one personal item that can fit on their lap or under their seat. Additionally, users can track their shuttle’s real-time location through the app within 25 minutes before departure.
A Streamlined Experience with Multiple Routes
The shuttle will feature two distinct routes within New York City: one stopping at Port Authority Terminal and Grand Central Terminal while another services Penn Station directly. Both routes will facilitate drop-offs and pick-ups at either Terminal B or C at LaGuardia Airport.
If you prefer other modes of transportation, options include driving your own vehicle, taking a taxi, or utilizing public MTA bus services; however, there are currently no subway lines or air trains connecting directly to LGA.
Special Introductory Offer
To celebrate this exciting launch, Uber is offering an introductory fare of just $9—half off regular prices—for the first month of operation! Looking ahead, there are plans for Uber Shuttle services that could extend beyond airport transfers; potential expansions may include transport options for large events such as concerts.
