In response to serious allegations regarding child safety, Roblox is implementing new restrictions aimed at protecting younger users from potentially harmful experiences on the platform.
Starting November 18th, children under the age of 13 will be prohibited from accessing certain interactive features within the platform. According to a recent announcement on their developer forum, these features include “social hangouts,” which primarily facilitate communication through text or voice chat, as well as “free-form 2D user creation” activities that allow players to engage in creative tasks like drawing on virtual boards.
Additionally, effective December 3rd, children under 13 will no longer be able to search for or play unrated experiences. This measure aims to further safeguard young users from inappropriate content.
