Georgia Advocate Shines at Trump Rally in Atlanta
During a recent rally held at the Georgia State University Convocation Center, former President Donald Trump made headlines by inviting local activist Michaelah Montgomery to share the stage with him.
Memorable Introduction
Toward the latter part of his address, Trump recounted meeting Montgomery earlier this year in a restaurant, expressing surprise and admiration for her recognition of his efforts in supporting historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). “She approached me saying, ‘It’s President Trump. You saved my college.’ I was taken aback,” he reminisced.
A Heartfelt Moment
The former president recalled the encounter with amusement, sharing how Montgomery greeted him warmly: “She pulled me in for a kiss and I thought to myself; I’m not sure if Melania will be happy about this!” With laughter filling the air, Montgomery playfully reminded him that he was supposed to keep such moments private.
Praising her character and potential, Trump characterized Montgomery as “incredible” while assuring her of his support: “I’ll do whatever I can to assist you.” He then relinquished the microphone for her to speak further.
Empowering Young Voices
In her address, Montgomery emphasized the importance of spreading their message beyond their circles: “We must engage and convey our views actively rather than just conferring amongst ourselves.” She mentioned founding an organization named Conserve the Culture aimed at motivating HBCU students towards conservative ideals.
A Call to Action
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, she said passionately, “No one needs this message more than my community—do you truly care?” The audience responded with fervent applause as she concluded by passing it back over to “Big T,” referring affectionately back to Trump’s presence on stage.
The Rally’s Contextual Backdrop
This rally comes shortly after Trump faced backlash from White House officials concerning remarks he had made regarding Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity during a panel at the National Association of Black Journalists convention. Commenting on Harris’ heritage, he stated ambiguously about recognizing that she identifies as Black only after several years. His comments drew widespread attention across various media platforms.
Praise from Cabinet Members
The rally also saw support from figures like Housing Secretary Ben Carson who lauded Trump’s willingness to confront challenging questions during such events. In a post shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Carson noted Trump’s bravery: “I commend my friend @realdonaldtrump for tackling tough issues head-on today,” showcasing solidarity amid ongoing discussions around race politics within America.
