The 27-year-old actress,‌ renowned for her performances in “Kick-Ass,” “Carrie,” and “The Equalizer,” expressed her support for the Democratic candidate on social media this past Saturday.

Accompanying a photo of an “I Voted ⁤Early” sticker, Moretz articulated her reasons for voting and addressed her sexual orientation publicly for the first time. She wrote: “I ⁤voted early and I cast my vote ​for Kamala Harris. This election holds significant stakes.”

“As a gay woman, I advocate for legal protections that safeguard the LGBTQ+ community. We need these protections in our country to ensure access to essential care that⁢ we ⁣deserve,” ⁣she emphasized.

Although she had not previously ‍discussed her sexuality openly,⁤ it has been​ reported that she has been romantically linked with model Kate Harrison since 2018. In April, reports indicated that they ​were spotted ​wearing rings on their left ring fingers during a visit to Disneyland, sparking engagement rumors.

Kamal ​Harris⁢ has demonstrated unwavering support ‍for LGBTQ+ rights throughout her political journey. She championed same-sex marriage legalization and ⁢officiated some of ‌the first such ceremonies in San Francisco back in 2004 when she served as district attorney there.

During her tenure as DA, she also⁣ initiated ⁣a hate crimes unit dedicated to ⁤investigating offenses against LGBTQ+ youth. However, it’s worth⁤ noting that in 2015 as California’s Attorney General, she opposed‌ gender-affirmation⁣ surgery requests from transgender inmates by claiming it was not “immediately necessary.”

Kamala’s running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is also recognized as an ardent supporter of LGBTQ+ rights throughout his political career.
