The recent merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery has marked the conclusion of an era for the DC Extended Universe, leaving numerous anticipated projects uncertain about their future. Among these was the much-anticipated sequel to 2022’s The Batman, along with its spin-off series titled The Penguin. Fortunately, both ventures have persevered post-merger, and DC Studios recently showcased the inaugural full trailer for The Penguin at last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con panel. Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald Cobblepot from The Batman in this fresh narrative.
The panel also featured a sneak preview and screening of Prime Video’s animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, which introduces audiences to a re-imagined character named Oswalda Cobblepot—voiced by Minnie Driver—offering a gender-flipped take on the original villainous figure. The official trailer for this show was released last month.
