Exciting New Direct Flights Connecting Nashville to Europe
This spring marks a significant enhancement in travel options for those flying from Nashville to Europe, with the introduction of two new direct routes to Ireland and Iceland. Aer Lingus is set to commence its service from Dublin to the vibrant “Music City” on April 12, 2025. The airline will operate flights four times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays—utilizing an Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
The Dublin-Nashville route will be available nearly year-round but will pause for six weeks during January and February. Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer at Aer Lingus, expressed enthusiasm about this new connection: “The bond between Irish culture and American country music is profound; Nashville’s reputation as the heart of country music makes it an ideal destination for enthusiasts.” She also highlighted that the city’s expanding sectors such as fashion, finance, healthcare, and automotive present numerous opportunities for business travelers.
Travelers returning from Dublin can benefit from the airport’s U.S. Pre-Clearance facility that allows them to complete both U.S. Security (TSA) checks and Customs before boarding their flight back home.
Icelandair Expands Service with New Route
Following closely behind Aer Lingus’s announcement is Icelandair’s plan to launch flights connecting Nashville with Reykjavik starting May 16, 2025. These flights will run four times weekly until October on Boeing 737-800 MAX aircraft every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Bogi Nils Bogason, President and CEO of Icelandair stated: “Our new service aims to provide travelers coming from Iceland and other parts of Europe via Nashville with more options across the United States.” He also encouraged passengers heading towards Europe to consider taking advantage of an Icelandair Stopover program that allows them a chance to explore Iceland before continuing their journey.
This addition brings Icelandair’s total destinations in North America up to 18—including major cities like New York City, Baltimore, Pittsburgh Chicago Detroit Denver Portland among others. The airline has effectively utilized a hub-and-spoke model through Reykjavik which facilitates connections between smaller U.S cities and European destinations.
Nashville International Airport: A Gateway for Global Travel
Nashville International Airport (BNA) continues its commitment as a key player in international travel by offering flights not only within North America but also connecting travelers directly with several global cities including Cancun London Montreal Punta Cana among others.
