In a recent development reported by Bloomberg, Apple has decided to reorganize its App Store operations into two distinct units. One section will focus on managing the App Store itself, while the other is tasked with navigating new alternative marketplaces that are emerging within the European Union.
Leadership Changes Amid Reorganization
This restructuring means that Matt Fischer, who has served as vice president of the App Store for over ten years, will be departing from his position. In an internal email revealed by Bloomberg, Fischer explained, “I’ve contemplated this transition for quite some time, and with our current efforts to adapt our team to address fresh challenges and capitalize on new opportunities, this seems like an opportune moment for me to hand over responsibilities to two exceptional leaders from my team.”
