The anticipation builds as I mark the calendar days until my husband, Bharminder—a name I affectionately shorten to Bobby—returns home from his overseas work commitments. Living in southeast England while he is stationed in Germany means that we’re separated by both distance (approximately 400 miles) and the English Channel.
Nurturing a Bond Amidst Physical Separation
I am primarily at home caring for our two children while Bobby operates an aviation consultancy specializing in helicopter and aircraft maintenance. Additionally, he offers training services for professionals in the sector.
Bobby’s journey began when we met at a quaint ice cream shop in London back in 2001. Our initial encounter included not just delicious treats but also an instant connection that led us to watch a movie together followed by an invigorating walk. Bobby initially worked for various airlines before launching his own business in 2019 with five employees under his wing. His current schedule involves working diligently abroad for two weeks at a time followed by some quality family downtime upon returning home—with total earnings exceeding $250,000 annually providing us stability.
